My area only allows regular VOW and registration is required per our local MLS. We have no choice unless we want to offer IDX search. IDX only offers a very small percentage of properties though, unlike VOW. I've seen sites that offer both but no matter how it's explained in print I think it's confusing for prospects.

IOW, let's say they don't want to register for VOW. So they start searching using the IDX. They only get 2 properties from that search but they know there are more. They then figure that you're offering them an inferior service, not realizing that if they just registered for VOW they'd get all the available properties.

Now for the cost. It costs $600 annually to offer VOW. It would cost an additional $300 for IDX. I just don't know if it's worth it. I feel if they think it's not a good service they won't stick around or come back. Some might understand the instructions but I think most will not.

One of my prior Broker's websites offered both and even I was confused when I first saw it (prior to having my own sites).
