They prey on the weak so yes I do have empathy for some of the victims. Some victims are just plain greedy but my friends father-in-law had one foot in a nursing home and this incident was the last straw. He had enough of his wits about him to live on his own but not enough to avoid these things. The old are the most common victims, hence the sob story that accompanies these scams. Lonely old people trying to help someone out.
I set my mom up with email and now I am wondering if it was a mistake.
By the way, we all have refunds coming from the irs. It said so in an email I get every day.
